Esperanza's back, everybody!

Welcome to the new and improved Esperanza!

Where the community is our foremost goal

Wikipedia is a dark and scary place, not the friendly neighborhood we all grew up in (assuming you became active on Wikipedia around 2005). We want everyone to get along again, to sit around the campfire and sing songs about exploding whales and the weather in London, and to have an utmost amount of fun contributing to the world's biggest encyclopedia thingy!

That is the goal of the new Esperanza.

But we have a lot of work to get there.

As the Interim Director of Esperanza, I would like to call for the election of an Esperanza Editor Council, consisting of seven members who have the most innovative approach towards Esperanza, a three-member Esperanza Dispute Council to resolve issues, a four-member Esperanza Editorial Board to evaluate Wikipedia articles on their compliance with Wikipedia editorial policy, and most importantly, a Director of Esperanza to replace me (assuming I do not get elected) to coordinate all the activities of Esperanza. You may nominate yourself today; elections will be soon.

Together, let us improve Wikipedia through Esperanza, let us socialize through Esperanza, and let us combine as a community through Esperanza.

harej, Interim Director of Esperanza.

Hello. I'd like to apply for the position of undersecretary for color schemes at the welcoming template design subcomittee. ZockPuppet (talk) 10:46, 1 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Whoa now. I applaud your enthusiasm, but let's not be reckless: we need to hold a pre-application meeting to plan this thing out. --Gwern (contribs) 15:48 1 April 2009 (GMT)
Guys, keep in mind that Esperanzian "bureaucracy" was an in-joke. Don't take it seriously, as others have before... bibliomaniac15 22:47, 1 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
