Derivative of presumably copyrighted photograph seen here, unknown author. Postdlf (talk) 16:21, 1 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

This is a copyrighted software screenshot, ie not PD.  Asenine  16:47, 1 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Summary states this is a trademark, and it is indeed a copyrighted logo, not CC.  Asenine  16:54, 1 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Added fair use and logo license, unsure why we would delete instead of fixing. -- Banjeboi 20:43, 1 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Source website does not state GNU.  Asenine  16:55, 1 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

States permission, links to discussion page for permission, but this is not adequate. This is what OTRS is for.  Asenine  17:04, 1 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

No case to answer. The image owner has given permission to use it with CC3. I have forwarded the owner's e-mail granting the license to the en-wikipedia permissions address. Bob BScar23625 (talk) 18:28, 1 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I have given this a week and things seem very quiet. I can't see what the issue is here. David (a professional politician) has put pictures on his publicity website and given a blanket CC3 licence on them. If nobody objects in the next 24 hours, I am going to insert this image on Whites in Zimbabwe and Demographics of Zimbabwe. Are we sure that licensing is really the problem with this image?. Bob BScar23625 (talk) 13:17, 8 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

States permission but no OTRS, a plea on the description page will not help.  Asenine  17:06, 1 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It is stated that permission has been acquired, but there is no OTRS link.  Asenine  17:06, 1 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

This is a promotional image from the band's Myspace page, but is marked GDFL? —/Mendaliv//Δ's/ 17:18, 1 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Uploader changed from GDFL to a fair use claim, but now that the article has been deleted, it's been marked for speedy as an orphaned fair-use image. PUI probably isn't appropriate for this image now. —/Mendaliv//Δ's/ 12:47, 2 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Copyvio of http://regmedia.co.uk/2004/06/16/psx-5100.jpg, which is The Register's imgserv. Register images are not GNU.  Asenine  17:38, 1 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Obviously a film or tv still, which is likely the property of the production company and not the uploader. Uploader is releasing the image into the public domain, yet asserting copyright and ownership. See related discussion here. Delicious carbuncle (talk) 18:05, 1 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • Comment Hope this is not a COI that I'm commenting here, but I'd like to share what I know about these images in question. As Mark Bellinghaus' business partner in MARILYN MONROE PRODUCTIONS LLC, I can vouch that the rights to the images of Mr. Bellinghaus on his Wikipedia article were passed on to Mr. Bellinghaus by the photographers. The photo of the group at the table which includes Mary Jane Popp, June DiMaggio, Robert W. Otto, Hugh Hefner, and Mark Roesler was taken by Mr. Bellinghaus himself at the Queen Mary Exhibit opening and he also owns the rights and has passed these rights on further to MARILYN MONROE PRODUCTIONS, LLC. How can this be properly handled so these images can stay here? Does Mr. Bellinghaus or our company need to grant some type of release? Thank you in advance for your help.--Jenjdickinson (talk) 11:21, 6 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
