Cederberg or Cedarberg

The spelling is now generally accepted as Cederberg, not Cedarberg. This is a combination of the English spelling and the Afrikaans spelling 'Sederberg'. Zaian 11:57, 7 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Clanwilliam Cedar or Clanwilliam Cypress

The tree is generally known as the Clanwilliam Cedar, even though botanically it should be called a cypress. Which should be used on this page? I believe that the common name should be used in the article, with a short explanation of the technically correct name. Zaian 16:14, 8 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Cederberg Mountains

Is the Cederberg part of the Cederberg Mountains or vice versa? Or are they one and the same? --Jwinius 22:28, 14 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Cederberg is directly translated as "Cedar Mountains", thus calling it Cederberg Mountains is an unneccesary repetition. However the name Cederberg, which originally was only used for the mountain range now also is the name of a district municipality, which incorporates the plains to the west of the range, which are not part of the mountain range per se.
