Fury (sometimes capitalised; FURY) is a player versus player (PvP) multiplayer online role-playing game (MPOG) developed by Auran and released on October 16, 2007.
Fury's focus on PvP combat differentiates it from traditional MMORPGs that center around player versus environment (PvE) content against non-player characters. However, like most MMORPGs, Fury uses collectible equipment, skills, and a ranking mechanism for players. Fury uses a method of matching equally ranked players from across the world in PvP matches.
Fury further differentiates itself from traditional RPGs by making many of its spells and abilities activate instantly and have no cooldown. The pace of gameplay thus tends to be faster than PvP combat in traditional MMORPGs, with tactical possibilities that are difficult or impossible in the latter. For example, spell-casters in Fury are generally not frozen in place when casting a spell, allowing them to retreat and avoid obstacles that might otherwise lock them in.
Gameplay
Fury has three game types (fourth in development) offering individual and team competition, with team sizes varying from 4 to 16.
- Vortex is a capture the flag variant. Each team has to capture Vortex Crystals and return them to their base while preventing them from being stolen. This game type focuses on team-based tactics.
- Elimination is a four-on-four deathmatch. Rounds are scored in a best-of-five format, allowing opponents to adapt their strategies between rounds.
- Bloodbath is a free-for-all gladiator-like battle type. Players can collect blood tokens from their fallen enemies to increase their score.
- Carnage is a fourth game type which will be offered on the 14th December 2007 as apart of the "Age of the Chosen" free content update. See Age of the Chosen (below).
Age of the Chosen
Fury will be receiving a large free add-on and update on 14 December, 2007. This content package, named Age of the Chosen, will feature:[1]
- New 'Carnage' game type with three maps.
- 1v1 Elimination game type with four maps.
- Improved tutorial.
- Streamlined interface.
- NPC number and placement changes.
- Rebalanced and improved equipment system.
- Combat mechanics changes.
- Improved combat feedback.
- Bug fixes, performance improvements and general polish.
This update should address the issues stated in most of the game's reviews.

- IGN gave a 6.5 out of 10, however ultimately criticized similar concepts, such as excessive amounts of useless skills, too many NPCs and minimal longevity.[4]
In the media
Fury was mentioned during the "Gamers News" segment on Good Game[citation needed]. It was noted that it would be the first MMORPG being entirely developed by an Australian game development team.
