For nearly 50 years, Dayton Opera has had a rich history of producing high quality, professional opera in the Miami Valley. Lead by Thomas Bankston, General & Artistic Director, Dayton Opera strives to assemble the finest artistic personnel and productions, as well as the highest quality voices from esteemed U.S. and international opera houses.

Dayton Opera is committed to “excellence in every experience” whether educating, entertaining or enriching and serving the diverse and expanding opera community in Dayton.

Dayton Opera is a not-for-profit organization funded and supported by numerous individuals, corporations, foundations and agencies including Culture Works, Montgomery County Arts and Cultural District and the Ohio Arts Council, with generous support from the Opera Guild of Dayton. Administrative support is provided through a strong management services agreement with Victoria Theatre Association.
