Golden Axe: Beast Rider is a new installment of the Golden Axe series for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 developed by Sega's acquired game developer Secret Level. Secret Level has worked on the Xbox version of Final Fight: Streetwise, among other projects. The game is set to be released sometime in 2008.

As part of E3 2006, Sega issued a press release touting a new entry to the Golden Axe franchise for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 [2]. A teaser trailer could also be seen during the event [3].

During summer 2007, fans uncovered new art [4] and 3-D models [5] from the game.

On October 2007, Play magazine revealed new details [6]. The game will feature the return of Tyris Flare, the female amazon warrior from the first installments of the series. With a heavy focus on riding beasts, it will target a mature public since dismemberments, decapitations and nudity will be present. According to the magazine, the game was a Xbox 360 exclusive, but this was quickly denied by Sega.[1]
