Plenism

The belief that no vacuum can exist (Naturam à vacuo abhorrere). Originating by Aristotle, it became more an issue with the Evangelista Torricelli barometer and the Boyle air-pump. Some proponents of plenism during the time of the Boyle air-pump experiments were Thomas Hobbes, Franciscus Linus and Henry More.
