Thomas W. Jeffries is a microbiologist who specilizes in metabolic engineering of Saccharomyces cerevisiae and Pichia stipitis yeasts for the fermentation of five carbon sugars. He is a Professor in the Department of Bacteriology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
