Al Faroque Siddiquee

Brigadier General Al Faroque Siddiquee, BSP, ndu, afwc, psc, MPhil was commissioned with 27th BMA Long Course on 20 December 1992 in the Corps of Infantry at “Victory Tigers”. He is currently the Principal of Adamjee Cantonment College. Before becoming the Principal of ACC, he was the Director of the Personnel Administration at the Army Headquarters. Prior to the appointment he served as the Commander of the 360th Infantry Brigade of the 17th Infantry Division of the Sylhet Area. He served as the Contingent Commander of BANBAT-3, at the Central African Republic and commanded the Bangladesh Batallion. He received the Extraordinary Service Medal due to his outstanding service at the UN Peacekeeping Mission.

Career

During his long shining career, Brigadier General Al Faroque Siddiquee held many important command & instructional appointments in Bangladesh Army including Regimental Staff, Company Commander, Grade Three Operations Officer and Brigade Major in an Infantry Division and Brigade Headquarters. He served in 5, 6, 13, 16, 26, 30, 34 and 52 East Bengal (now 17 BIR), 28 BIR, Headquarters 11 Infantry Division and HQ 16 Infantry Brigade. He also served in President Guard Regiment as Company Commander and LO. He commanded 13 East Bengal, 28 Bangladesh Infantry Battalion and 30 East Bengal. He served as an instructor at School of Infantry and Tactics. He also served as General Staff Officer 1 (Operations Art and Tactics) at Army Training Doctrine and Command and as a Colonel, he served as Colonel Staff of Military Training Directorate (MT Dte) at Army Headquarters and School of Infantry and Tactics (SI&T). He was a Commander of 360 Infantry Brigade. He also served as a Director of Personnel Administrative Directorate (DPA), Army Headquarters. He participated in three UN Missions in Sierra Leone (as Contingent Commander), African Union Mission in Darfur (as Staff Officer) and Central African Republic (as Contingent Commander C/O: 30 East Bengal). He also served in the Chattogram Hill Tracts in two terms at Kaptai and Panchari respectively.


He is a graduate of Defence Services Command and Staff College. Besides, he attended Armed Forces War Course at National Defence College at Mirpur. He is also a science graduate from Chattogram University. He obtained MDS (Master of Defence Studies) Degree under National University. He has completed his MPhil degree twice from Bangladesh University of Professionals and Begum Rokeya University respectively. Later, he did his ndu course in China and successfully graduated from the National Defence University (NDU) of PLA, China and completed his Master’s at National Defence University, China. Currently, he is pursuing his PhD.
