Synopsis

Wendy takes place in the fictional land of Rose Valley where Wendy and her friends tackle adolescence, coming-of-age, growing up, male youthling, relationships, friendship, family, and most of all: horses. Every day brings on a new challenge for Wendy and her friends. The episodes are aimed at young girls in the demographic of 6-11. The show teaches new lessons about being bold, and staying true to yourself. The show is still airing, and has been since 2012.

Setting

Wendy takes place in the fictional land of Rose Valley, Canada. It is a rural area with a small, close-knit community that is always ready to come together when the going gets tough. It's a quaint town with strong morals, and a great centerpiece for the Thornburn Stables. There is also an antique shop, and a high school. It is also the place to be from morning to midnight!

Characters

  • Wendy Thornburn: Wendy, the protagonist, is an energetic, fifteen-year-old girl. She is spunky, and passionate. She is a very talented equestrian who always tries her best to balance her home-school-equestrian life. She is always there for her friends, and family. Sometimes Wendy's pride, and impulsiveness gets the best of her, and she find herself having to noodle out of some whacky situations.
  • Penny: Penny is Wendy's, white, Hanoverian competition horse. The horse is just as soulful, and has just as much of a zest for life as her rider!
  • Bianca Kramer: Bianca is Wendy's fabulous, beautiful, sixteen-year-old, best friend. Bianca is more composed, and reserved than Wendy. She is responsible, and loves photography. She is very creative, and loves to ride her horse, Prince. She has beautiful, auburn, curly tresses with vibrant, emerald eyes, and a dazzling smile. Bianca is a pure cinnamon roll.
  • Carrie Thornburn: Carrie is a tomboy, and Wendy's adopted, thirteen-year-old sister. She always tries to keep up with her sister and her friends. Carrie is a great representation for the LBQTA community, as she is a young lesbian with a very loving, open-minded, accepting family. Pablo is Carrie's horse, who might also be homosexual.
  • Jerry Kellerman: Jerry is a sixteen-year-old headstrong hearthrob who makes all the Rose Valley girls swoon. He is tall, dark, handome, and a great rider in more than one way. He has a horse named Bajan, and also goes by the name Steve. Unfortunately, the Rose Valley ladies aren't aware that Jerry is also a flaming homosexual. He is very gay for Flavio, his best friend. He even dated Wendy as a cover for his homosexuality, as the Kellerman's are not as tolerant as the Thornburns.
  • Christian Decker: Christian, or Remy, is a sixteen-year-old brute and mean rich boy of Rose Valley. He comes to odds with his step-cousin, Wendy all the time. He will do anything, including cheat to win. Christian constantly struggles with repressing his familial ties with Wendy due to his feelings towards her, and his step-sister, Jennifer. This explains his constant anger.
  • Vanessa Mahler: Vanessa, voiced by Jennifer Aniston, is Wendy's bitchy cousin. She loves being the center of attention, and is always trying to score with her step-brother. Jennifer is annoying, but not nearly as vexing as the protagonist we're supposed to be routing for. Vanessa is always fighting with Wendy, but it's not hard to see why.
  • Grandma Wendy: She is a rad old lady who is disappointed in her graddaughter, Wendy. She is homophobic and wants to rid of her adopted granddaughter due to her inclination towards women. This is an internalized hatred as she is a bisexual whose feelings were repressed by her own devout, Christian home. She was forced into a loveless marriage with a man, Wendy's grandfather, twenty years older than she.
  • Mama Wendy: a weird woman who wears ugly clothes and gave birth to Wenndy
  • Papa Wendy: Wendy's dad who has a block head and has pedophilic tendencies to his lesbian, adopted daughter.
  • Flavio: Flavio, or Pierce, is simply the boy toy trophy and plot device for Steve.
