Khamra Teeka is an album by Assyrian singer Linda George released in 1993 . The album was a huge sucess for the singer and marked a point in her career where she transitioned from traditional folk Assyrian Music , to more contemporary, Americanized music. The album did not shy away however from the traditional Assyrian ballads that Linda had come to be popular for. The album also contained the popular track called Matlab D' Libba or The Chappeh Chappeh Song, which contained a rap verse. The song is still popular to this day and is performed while Linda tours the world. The album also contained the popular track Barwar, a song which tells the story of the bombing of Barwar, a northern Iraq villiage that was demolished during the Gulf War. The album Khamra Teeka to this day goes down as one of the most influential Assyrian albums of all time as well as one of the most popular albums for Linda George.
