Sweden Day is a New York Midsummer Celebration
The Sweden Day Committee of greater New York sponsors the Annual Sweden Day. This traditional event occurs during the summer solstice at the scenic Manhem Club, right on the sound in Throgs Neck, New York. This festival of the summer solstice features the raising of the maypole (“Majstång”), traditional food, music, folk dancing, kids games & prizes, and best of all, camaraderie. The many volunteers who work enthusiastically toward making this event a reality are committed and dedicated to the preservations of our Scandinavian heritage.
Sweden Day honors heritage and history. The celebrations has been around for over 60 years. There are other Midsummer events in NYC and all over the country.
