Yukihiro Takiguchi (滝口 幸広, Takiguchi Yukihiro, May 29, 1985 — November 13, 2019)[2] was a Japanese actor, singer, and model affiliated with Stardust Promotion. After modeling in various campaigns, he made his debut as an actor playing Shuichiro Oishi in the 2006 musical Musical: The Prince of Tennis. After leaving production, Takiguchi starred in other plays, playing the roles of Yūzō Kashima in Mankai Stage: A3! and Miroku in InuYasha. He has also appeared in television and film series in roles such as Fumizō Sōma from Tadashii Ōji no Tsukurikata and Akira Hayase from Kamen Rider Drive. In addition to acting, Takiguchi was part of the project boy band PureBoys from 2007 to 2008.

Career

As a child, Takiguchi dreamt of becoming an astronomer.[3] He attended an all-boys high school, and during his senior year, he was scouted to become a model.[3] Takiguchi accepted the invitation, out of concluding that the job would be more rewarding than "graduating out of college to become a salaryman."[3] His career started as a talent under Stardust Promotion and he was a part of a subgroup of the agency Nachural.[citation needed] In 2004, he debuted as an actor in the television series Water Boys 2.[3][4]

He also did some modeling work: a CM for McDonalds in 2005, the NOZOMI ISHIGURO SPRING＆SUMMER 2007 COLLECTION』 Fashion Show in 2006, and the CM for JTBRyuu x Gakusei Ryuu in 2007.[5] In 2009, he was in one of the three CMs for the Hamanako Driving School.[6]

Takiguchi's father is a chef.[8] In December 2008, Takiguchi became a certified chef.[9]

Death

Takiguchi died from heart failure on November 13, 2019 at the age of 34.[2][10][11][7] Prior to his death, Takiguchi had been preparing to appear in the stage plays Meijiza no Hen: Kirin ni No-ru in December 2019 and Mankai Stage: A3! August 2020 in January 2020.[7] Takiguchi's funeral was held privately with close relatives..[2][4]
