Cheryl Margaret Cran (born August 19, 1963) is a Canadian entrepreneur, public speaker, consultant, management coach, and author.[1][2][3] She is the founder of NextMapping,[4] a Future of Work Consultancy and the CEO of Synthesis at Work Inc.[5][6][7][8] Cran is also the Past President of the Canadian Association of Professional Speakers.[9]

Cran was born to David Chouinard and Joanne Hildebrand. She was the lead singer of the rock band Elan.[10]
She is married to Reg Cran and has a daughter and two stepsons.
She is a graduate of Rockhurst University in Communications, Leadership, Communications, and Organizational Development[11] and Exponential Innovation program at Singularity University.[12]
Career
Cran has worked in many different industries throughout her career including technology, agriculture, health, pharma, finance, insurance, medical, retail, manufacturing, and education. In her early twenties, Cran was involved in the finance and insurance industries. She was promoted to management at the age of 23. After ten years, a national financial insurance company took her on board to head their regional portfolio, where she managed to increase the company market share by 30% with the help of her team.[13]
Going back from insurance to financing, she became in charge of a growing mortgage portfolio with her partner. She interned with a consulting firm for a year and then set up her own practice in 1994. Since then, Cran’s experience in organizational development, leadership development, communication planning, project management and more has provided growth, evolution, and success for her global clients.[14]
Cran has been a public speaker for more than 20 years.[15] She is also the Past President of the Global Speakers Federation 2012-2013 and was on the board of directors until 2014.[16]
Cheryl Cran has worked with clients including AT&T, Bell Mobility, Omnitel, Gartner, British Telcomm, and Manulife.[17]

Media Appearance
Cheryl Cran has appeared several times on Fanny Kiefer TV Show to talk about technology and the workplace.[30] She has also been interviewed by Appirio and Blog Talk Radio, where she taught how to leverage the talents, skills, and experiences of all the generations, collectively working for the success of their companies.[29][31] Cran was also a guest on Fox’s The Mike and Juliet Show, Michael Alf Podcast, and a speaker at TedxVancouver and CPABC PACIFIC SUMMIT 2016.[6][32][33][34] She is to join CMSWire in a Webinar in October 2018.[35]
Awards and Recognition
Cheryl Cran was the holder of Global Consultant of the Year Award, Shanghai at the TMI World Partners Meeting, in 2014. She was inducted into the Canadian Speaker Hall of Fame in 2012.[16] She is also number 1 on Onalytica top influencers list and has been named in the Top Ten Future of Work Influencers by Go Catalant.[36][37][38]
