Mirali or Mir Ali (Pashto/Template:Lang-ur) is a town and tehsil in North Waziristan, FATA that is 30 kilometres (19 mi) west of Bannu in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. It has an altitude of 655 metres (2152 feet) and lies close to the border with Afghanistan.[1] In October 2007, the battle between Taliban militants and Pakistani armed forces killed 175 civilians in Mirali.
The residents of Mirali are Dawar and Utman Zai Wazir tribals. Wazirs reside in mountainous areas of NWA such as Spin Waaam, Shawa and Khiasur while Dawars reside in plane areas on both sides of the river Tochi. Some well known villages of Dawars in Mirali area are Hassu Khel, Haider Khel, Mussaki, Idaak, Khaddi, Hurmaz, Zeraki, Hakim Khel etc.
