Den sjunde vågen is the second studio album by Swedish singer-songwriter Marie Fredriksson, originally released on 17 February 1986 on LP and Cassette by EMI Sweden. The album was preceded by the release of two singles: "Den bästa dagen" ("The Best Day") and "Silver i din hand" ("Silver in Your Hand"). The album was issued on CD for the first time on 29 October 1986, with this edition containing the b-sides from the two singles as bonus tracks.
The album was a commercial success upon release, spending over three months on the Swedish Albums Chart, peaking at number 6 on its third week. A remastered version of the album was released in 2002 as part of Fredriksson's 24-bit HDCD box set, Kärlekens guld. This edition included Fredriksson's previously unreleased version of "Det finns så mycket man inte känner till" ("There Is Much You Do Not Know") as a bonus track. The song had originally been released as a single in 1988 by Swedish pop singer Anna Book.[1]
Background and recording
Den sjunde vågen was recorded between June and September 1985, and features a predominantly new group of musicians from the ones who performed on her first solo album, 1984's Het vind, which had been recorded alongside many of the same musicians who appeared on Per Gessle's debut solo album. Fredriksson and Gessle would later go on to form pop duo Roxette, whose first album, Pearls of Passion, was released in October 1986.[2]
