He was born on August 2, 1918, at [[Hyderabad, Sindh|Hyderabad]], [[Sindh]]. He passed the Bachelor of Science examination at the age of 17 years. For his master's degree, his thesis was on "The Scattering of X-Rays by Solids", which was assessed by [[C.V. Raman]]. He also worked as a Fellow in the D.J. Sind College, [[Karachi]].
