The elections caused great controversy when Council Chief Exectuive Mark Hall failed to ensure appropiate arrangements to have a smooth running election which created fall out amongst staff. The division resulted in grievances being lodged by staff which took away from the fact that too many observers the results of the election were debatable http://www.leicestermercury.co.uk/council-bosses-destroying-staff/story-26510385-detail/story.html

The subsequent whitewash was raised by Sir Edward Garnier in the House of Commons and it is strongly beleived that the Council needs to be put into special measures.
