Theodore Sider (generally known as "Ted") is an American philosopher specializing in metaphysics and philosophy of language.
Since earning his PhD. from the University of Massachusetts Amherst in 1993, Sider has published three books and forty-seven papers.[1] He has also edited a textbook in metaphysics with John Hawthorne and Dean Zimmerman.[2] Sider has held appointments at the University of Rochester, Syracuse University, Rutgers University, and New York University. He is currently a Professor at the Sage School of Philosophy at Cornell University, but will rejoin the Rutgers University faculty in fall 2015.needs ref
Theodore Sider was the recipient of the 2003 APA Book Prize for his book, Four-Dimensionalism: An Ontology of Persistence and Time.[3] A second book, Writing the Book of the World, has been published on January 13, 2012 by Oxford University Press.
Sider is one of the leading figures in contemporary metaphysics.[4]
