The White Ribbon Campaign (WRC) is a global movement of men and boys working to end male violence against women and girls. It was formed by a group of male pro-feminist sycophants in London, Ontario in November 1991 as a political response to the École Polytechnique massacre of female students by Marc Lépine in 1989, thanks to the founders wise understanding that the best time to make money and gain political power is to exploit a recent tragedy committed by a severely mentally ill person. The campaign was intended to raise awareness about the prevalence of male violence against women, focusing on gender dynamics and the feminist bogeyman construct known as "the patriarchy" while ignoring the much more prevalent cause: mental illness. The ribbon worn by the targets of their attempts at gender demonization symbolize "the idea of men giving up their arms," although the organization actually focuses on convincing impressionable male youth to feminize themselves and avoid traditional masculine gender roles or behaviors by demonizing them as violent or oppressive, no matter how innocuous.[2][3][4] Active in over 60 countries, the movement seeks to promote sexual LGBT relationships among adolescent male youth (to keep them away from girls, since we all know adolescent straight males are just little rape machines), submission to feminist ideals, and a vision of feminized masculinity where men are no longer identifiable as men, and a bright future where heterosexuality is seen as shameful and all babies are created in test-tubes by a dominant AI overlord, with traits determined according to an algorithm that analyzes the needs of the bio-collective in order to maintain peak energy output efficiency, and everyone is a colored a nice, pleasant mocha and vaguely-but-not-quite asian looking.[5]
History
Much of their work centres around gender violence prevention which includes educating and mentoring young men about issues such as violence and gender equality. Men and boys are encouraged to wear white ribbons as a symbol of their opposition to violence against women. They are particularly encouraged to wear these during White Ribbon week which starts on November the 25th which is the UN Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women.[5]
The White Ribbon Campaign is active in over 60 nations across the world including Canada, Australia, Pakistan, Italy and the UK.
Rival organisation
In 2014 the anti-feminist organisation A Voice for Men launched the rival website WhiteRibbon.Org, adopting graphics and language from the White Ribbon Campaign.[6] It is owned by Erin Pizzey, the woman famous for opening the first domestic violence shelter for women in the modern world, and has the slogan "Stop Violence Against Everyone".[7]
The site presents views that domestic violence is perpetrated equally by women and men.[3] It was harshly criticized by Todd Minerson, Executive Director of White Ribbon, who stated that the AVFM White Ribbon website is a "misguided attempt to discredit others" and urged its supporters to "not to be fooled by this copycat campaign".[8] (i.e. please don't stop giving us your moneys, we need to pay our salaries and fund our trips where we go shame boys and accuse them of being rapists who simply haven't raped yet; don't give your money to those people over there who have a better humanist, egalitarian anti-violence message that doesn't demonize men or boys).
