Hi,

I reverted a few edits you completed on the [[El Paso]] article. Before removing images and organizational layout parameters, please discuss the changes on the talk page. If you are unfamiliar with beginning a discussion on the talk page, please take a moment to read the following guidelines: [[WP:TALK]]. June 2013

Information icon Hello, I'm PinkAmpersand. An edit that you recently made to Wikipedia:What is an article? seemed to be a test and has been removed. If you want more practice editing, the sandbox is the best place to do so. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. — PinkAmpers&(Je vous invite à me parler) 06:27, 25 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited El Paso, Texas, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages University Medical Center and Plaza Theatre (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 10:53, 16 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Slow down a minute

B575, I'm trying to copyedit your recent addition to the El Paso article. Take a break and let me get caught up, as I've just blown away your last 4 edits, which introduce more mistakes to fix, too. Dicklyon (talk) 19:40, 21 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Wake up

I know I'm probably wasting my breath trying to communicate with you, but if you ever discover that you have a talk page, respond here, or on my talk page, or on the article talk page, and I can explain why I'm reverting some of your edits. Dicklyon (talk) 05:43, 23 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited El Paso, Texas, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Franklin Mountains (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Welcome!

Hello, B575, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few links to pages you might find helpful:

Please remember to sign your messages on talk pages by typing four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{help me}} before the question. Again, welcome!

And thanks for talking

Usually you can reply on the same page where a conversation has started (indent by starting a line with a colon); use your watchlist to see if someone has recently edited a page you care about (like another talk page where you started a conversation). But thanks for reaching out to me on my talk page.

I also mentioned you at Talk:El Paso, Texas#Geography section bloat. Let me know if my conjectures there are wrong. If you are using more than one account, it is a good idea to say so on your user page. See WP:SOCK#NOTIFY.

I'm glad we're both El Paso fans. I grew up there and still have lots of family there.

My WP editing these days is mostly just reacting to style nits, which is why I pick on over-capitalization, punctuation, and such. You can review my edits at El Paso by clicking on the history link at El Paso and then on various "prev" links to see how my edit changed the article from the previous state.

Dicklyon (talk) 22:57, 23 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

And please use edit summaries to say what you're doing

Hi there. When editing an article on Wikipedia there is a small field labeled "Edit summary" under the main edit-box. It looks like this:

Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)

The text written here will appear on the Recent changes page, in the page revision history, on the diff page, and in the watchlists of users who are watching that article. See m:Help:Edit summary for full information on this feature.

Filling in the edit summary field greatly helps your fellow contributors in understanding what you changed, so please always fill in the edit summary field. If you are adding a section, please do not just keep the previous section's header in the Edit summary field – please fill in your new section's name instead. Thank you.

Thanks for the feedback

Will go ahead and do that and please feel free to correct me when needed.

Mexican American Article Pictures

Please put Selena Quintanilla's picture back on the Mexican American article. She is a good representation of the Mexican American community. She is an inspiration to many people, and is known by all Latinos. If you want to take a picture off of the article, remove Jessica Alba, Demi Lovato or Selena Gomez's pictures. Thank you — Preceding unsigned comment added by Tejanorules (talkcontribs) 05:53, 5 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Yes she is! And I think you have a very valid point and agree that she should be left on. Thank you,

Anthony Quinn question

Although Anthony Quinn was born in Mexico, he grew up as a child in El Paso, Texas and later moved to California where he became perhaps the best known Mexican American actor. Just like Salma Hayek and Cain Velasquez, Anthony Quinn was born in Mexico but clearly recognized as Mexican Americans. His came to prominence came from Hollywood and not Mexico like Mexican Giants Pedro Infante and Jorge Negrete, those two are clearly Mexican actors from the same time.

Hello, I'm BracketBot. I have automatically detected that your edit to El Paso–Juárez may have broken the syntax by modifying 1 "[]"s. If you have, don't worry, just edit the page again to fix it. If I misunderstood what happened, or if you have any questions, you can leave a message on my operator's talk page.

Population stats

I reverted your El Paso edits to before the one where you changed the population numbers. Those fail to verify in the cited source. Dicklyon (talk) 18:08, 11 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I also reverted your edits at El Paso–Juárez to before your breakage of references. Check your work; when you see a big red error message in the reference section, fix it. Dicklyon (talk) 20:26, 11 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Ok thanks, will do.
You broke the refs again, as you can see by this bot's repair attempt that restored the now-incorrect reference. You can see the problem in your version. Dicklyon (talk) 02:00, 15 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Signing talk page posts

Information icon Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion (but never when editing articles), please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:

  1. Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment; or
  2. With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button ( or ) located above the edit window.

This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.

Thank you. Flat Out let's discuss it 02:19, 20 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, I'm Flat Out. I noticed that you made an edit to Storage Hunters, but that you didn’t support your changes with a citation to a reliable source. Wikipedia has a strict policy concerning how we write about living people, so please help us keep such articles accurate. Even though Storage Hunters is not a biography, the changes you made do reflect on living persons and therefore must be sourced. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Flat Out let's discuss it 02:19, 20 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Mestizo

Being "mestizo" is a question of identity and therefore we don't include pictures of living people unless they explicitly identify as such, and we only add them with support from sources. It is not enough that it is "common knowledge" that someone is a mestizo. Diaz is a historical person and therefore doesn't fall under the principle regarding living people. In anycase there probably shouldn't be any pictures at all since "mestizo" does not have a single definition, and therefore does not form an actual community.
