Moogfest is a three-day electronic music festival that takes place in Asheville, North Carolina every year since 2010 towards the end of October. The festival is held in Asheville because it is the city where Bob Moog, the inventor of the Moog Synthesizer and founding father of electronic music, spent the last thirty years of his life. It is said that Moogfest is put on to honor the creativity and inventiveness that Bob Moog had spread throughout the course of his life. Since Moogfest is an urban music festival, taking place in downtown Asheville, it spread out across multiple venues.
