Helen Meles is a popular and recognized Eritrean singer.[1] At the age of 13, Helen joined the Eritrean Peoples Liberation Front, where she was enrolled in the EPLF’s revolutionary school.[1] She is known for her successful transition from ex-war combatant with the Eritrean People's Liberation Front to pop star.[2][3] In 2007, Helen married Eritrean saxophonist Issac Asefaw.
