Operation Elster

Hello, I dont know the details of Gimpel, but there was some interaction with him and an Irish POW called John Codd, they were supposed to go on Operation Elster (plan to spy on/steal the Manhatten project) together before Otto Skozeny dropped Codd.

There is also a mention of an Operation Pelican- anyone know anything about that? Thanks. And is it worth writing a Operation Elster article and incorporating the details in this article? Time of death

According to the blurb of his book at Amazon, Gimpel died in Germany in 1996. I am removing the reference to his 94th birthday until this can be verified.

Erich Gimpel did not died in 1996 in Germany, which can be seen watching the interview that was given to Fox News Channel, he is alive and lives in Brazil, approximately 50 years, with 99 years old and is well of health.
