Lowepro is an international company that produces bags for imaging equipment and consumer electronics. Its products are for photographers and laptop computer users.

The brand began in 1967 when climber, Greg Lowe, invented the world’s first internal frame backpack in his Colorado work shed.[citation needed] In 1972, Lowe introduced the first foam padded, soft-sided camera bag. Lowepro / Lowe Alpine have also been responsible for the introduction of plastic buckles, compression straps, and stabilizers which are now standard in most modern back packs.[citation needed]

Lowepro distributes products in 107 countries. Lowepro’s worldwide headquarters are located in Sebastopol, CA, with offices in Australia, Canada, Germany and the United Kingdom.
