What regards my account, I'm afraid I'm too stubborn as feeling wronged in this whole process --perusing guidelinesI did not come across anything spelling out exactly what kind of English to use. Sure, one is advised to not be cryptic, not 2ramble and to be clear. But hey, if there already is a cut-off border, it won't be a clear one as there is a substantial gray zone [ what shall be used? American English? British English? I vote for Kiwi English! Shall Ebonics/eye English be outlawed and shorthand be ostracized? I guess you get my gist. Where was the vandalism that led to this warning you left for this IP?

Also, you don't need to enter the entire web address (http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Remember_Right_Now) ... just use the page name (Remember Right Now). --OnoremDil 19:46, 6 November 2008 (UTC)

The vandalism was rolled back Blueking12 (talk) 20:14, 6 November 2008 (UTC)
Nothing was rolled back. Their edits are still sitting at the top of the page history...and they aren't vandalism. --OnoremDil 22:21, 6 November 2008 (UTC)

Libapedia full of lie & you are just one more liar

You rejected my post because you said

"Welcome to Wikipedia, and thank you for your contributions. One of the core policies of Wikipedia is that articles should always be written from a neutral point of view. Please remember to observe our core policies. Thank you. Onorem♠Dil 22:28, 23 October 2008 (UTC)"

but if you look at the lib-a-pedia's accepted post just above it it says

"Bash Back! DC confronted the HRC once again for its legacy of transphobia and homonormative policies. "

Yah that is "NEUTRAL" alright. no you don't fool anyone, your joke of a website is just one my pro gay liberal rag like most of the others. any time someone post something that is the truth that you don't like, you just delete it. you are sad little Hitlers. No wonder no one uses your site for facts, it just one sided christian-hating, Gay loving claptrap — Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.31.209.136 (talk)

I have absolutely no clue what you're talking about, but thanks for posting here so that I had a chance to notice your rant on Bash Back. Please stop adding unsourced information to articles. --OnoremDil 18:19, 11 November 2008 (UTC)

it appears the school's website hasn't been updated for several years. see the date at the source you cited--Certified.Gangsta (talk) 11:45, 12 November 2008 (UTC)

I see conflicting result in the google search. The last updated refers to the entire site. The page you cited was written way back in 2006.--Certified.Gangsta (talk) 11:49, 12 November 2008 (UTC)

The discussion is frankly over. You decide to unilaterally revert the article when a constructive ongoing discussion is taking place. This doesn't inspire confidence.--Certified.Gangsta (talk) 11:51, 12 November 2008 (UTC)

Your source doesn't convince me. I know a guy from the school from a basketball tournament I attended. He can give me 1st person info on the situation.--Certified.Gangsta (talk) 11:54, 12 November 2008 (UTC)

Sorry, but "I met a guy who told me" isn't convincing enough for me to revert my changes. --OnoremDil 12:09, 12 November 2008 (UTC)

User:NWA.Rep appears to be vandalising that page and the references prove that Alex Grant left at the end of December 2006. I showed him the reference a week ago http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=User_talk:NWA.Rep&diff=prev&oldid=251328410 DOUBLEBLUE (talk) 13:53, 19 November 2008 (UTC)

Stop calling it vandalism. There's no reason to assume that he doesn't legitimately believe the information he's adding is correct. I happen to completely disagree with him, but that doesn't make his edits vandalism. --OnoremDil 13:55, 19 November 2008 (UTC)

There's assuming good faith and then there's outright deliberately adding information that has been proved to be incorrect. What more proof does one need? This is ridiculous. I showed you that Grant left at the end of 2006 and George has been there since 2007. How about this and this? Is Grant doing double service at Kitsilano? How about the Ministry of Education? Are they lying too? No. He is clearly deliberately adding incorrect information even after being shown it was wrong. That is vandalism and he's playing you. DOUBLEBLUE (talk) 14:05, 19 November 2008 (UTC)

(?)

As pertains to the universe of Wikipedia, you may be correct. As pertains to falconry, you're in MY domain, and we -- that is, all falconers, and we're the undisputed experts on both the sport and the raptors (many of us being both biologists/vets and falconers) -- do not allow novices (who aren't yet qualified to even keep a hawk without supervision) to run their ignorant mouths or fingers. I've been at this 38 years now, and I have to check with Hal Webster to get the facts straight on some of this four-score's history. So please, help with the Wiki mysteries, but leave the quality of content to those of us who know what we're talking or typing about? (ASIDE: I find it amusing that you'll say that ALL are welcome to edit, but others in Wiki refused to allow me to add information on the West African f. Chicquera, even though I'm THE expert on the sub-species.) Thank you, in advance, for your cooperation and assistance. JT (talk) 14:25, 18 November 2008 (UTC)

Replying to your message, you put some tags on that article as well, including some unrealistic ones. I take a great deal of offense to what some of your peers do, as well. You aren't alone in being offended. But no personal attacks were made, and any comments were in direct correlation to the actions and slights. I'll admit that others have been more abrasive and less helpful, and I DO appreciate your help in bringing the article to fit Wiki formatting syntax. But I DON'T appreciate you telling me that some wet-behind-the-ears apprentice falconer is welcome to plug his ignorance into the content of the article. Please, we have to respect the Wiki methods and formats, respect our ways as well. Falconry is a very old art/sport, and these traditions didn't form in a vacuum. We know what we're about. This year's apprentice will prattle on about the little he knows. Next year, he'll be contradicting himself and not even realize it. The year after, he'll begin to understand that he had no idea what he was prattling on about, and no basis for an opinion. After about 8-10 years, one finally empties the cup and begins to understand. But for whatever reason, perhaps the novelty of it all to them, apprentices are the very first to run on at the fingers in ignorance of the realities of the sport. I hope this adequately explains why I made the statement.

I'll admit bias regarding the Wiki volunteer staff. Some of you may be here to help, but all too many run roughshod over us if we're not into your little universe. Wiki's KNOWLEDGE is a good thing, but the formatting Nazis, and all of these rules about information, they're way over the top, counterproductive to real knowledge. Yes, I understand that people vandalize, etc. But when they do, that's easily enough figured out and fixed. Meanwhile, you risk losing tremendous wealths of legitimate information by being so rigid about your rules. Nothing I've ever put up is not verifiable... but you may have to do a bit of homework to prove it... and it's just not my job to spoon-feed the proof. I've already done the hard part of gaining the knowledge. If you want verification, ask. If your criteria is that the information all be published by some major house, you're being laughably unrealistic, as the world just doesn't work that way (and it is becoming less and less likely as electronic/digital media replaces paper text.) If Wiki is too rigid to adapt to that reality, it will unfortunately expire as it becomes less and less useful and relevant, contemporary. But enough of this. We both have things to do. JT (talk) 14:55, 18 November 2008 (UTC)

Sorry, but others of this volunteer staff have stringently insisted that the information MUST be published by a major house to be considered authentic.

Back on the editing... if you mean editing format, then of course, I'd agree. I even asked for help with that part. But editing CONTENT, substance, shouldn't be done by someone who isn't intimately familiar with the many nuances of the subject.

Thanks again for your help in formatting. Is there a Biography shell of some kind? JT (talk) 15:44, 18 November 2008 (UTC)

Mummies

The various articles mention the two mummies in Richmond. One of the articles mention the fact that there are only three mummies in the state of Indiana. Thus, two out of the three mummies in the state are in Richmond, Indiana, giving it the most mummies per capita.Peter Napkin Dance Party (talk) 23:09, 17 December 2008 (UTC)

Having the highest mummies per capita in the state (if not the world) is at least on par with the sort of trivia the article currently lists, for example the un-sourced assertion that Richmond was 'once' (when?) known as "the lawnmower capital" (of what?).

The fact that Richmond is home to two Egyptian mummies while the state as a whole is home to only three mummies should clearly refute the claim that Richmond doesn't have the most mummies per capita in the State.

While I can't find the article online, the IndyStar a few years back published an article on Richmond's mummies. Further, the mummies in Richmond have been talked about on major Egyptology websites.

These are the reasons why I think it is notable that Richmond has the most mummies per capita in the state. I had wanted to make the claim that it had the highest mummies per capita for the entire United States of America, but I couldn't find a good source to that affect so I stopped short.

Thanks for your concern trying to make Wikipedia a better place, but I think in this instance it is misplaced.Peter Napkin Dance Party (talk) 23:32, 17 December 2008 (UTC)

Restoring deleted user talk page

I think there's a valid reason to restore warnings issued, but deleted by the user less than 5 minutes later. Aside from certain programs like Huggle seeming to rely on it to calculate automatic escalation, human editors use the presence of such warnings to judge escalation as well - no? ? Quaeler (talk) 20:33, 2 January 2009 (UTC)

There's a history tab. --OnoremDil 20:34, 2 January 2009 (UTC)
Also, see WP:BLANKING. --OnoremDil 20:38, 2 January 2009 (UTC)
Ya, i've always read WP:BLANKING to imply 'in a reasonable amount of time'. There is a scenario in which a warning is cleared out a day later, and there is scenario where someone immediately clears out a final warning -- to my mind, there are two separate motivations involved here. At any rate, we'll wait until he repeat-repeats. Thanks. Quaeler (talk) 11:04, 3 January 2009 (UTC)

Rodney MacDonald

Hi Onorem,

Any User adding any information (including factual ones) to this page has their post promptly deleted if it does not met the approval of Mr. MacDonald's office. I challange you to make such a post; a solid, factual one showing a mistake by Rodney MacDonald that you can easily find in several mainstream media, and see how many seconds it takes to be removed. At the end of the day it doesn't make any difference in my life. I just think that it is a shame that Wikipedia is being used for propaganda purposes by a politician That will only give ammunition to the Wikipedia naysayers. — Preceding unsigned comment added by RyanMacDonald (talkcontribs)

I don't doubt that there is some well sourced criticism that might belong in the article. I do doubt that everything you've added belongs, and the way you're going about it only hurts your position. Edit warring and socking are just going to lead to blocks and quick reverts. --OnoremDil 15:00, 10 January 2009 (UTC)

Look who's talking!!

To his computer!! Sometimes one should not believe what other non-computer geeks are saying -- [by the way, what is the name of those 2 different kind of dashes?] Computer voice recognition seems to work, started this morning, what else to do after the Manchester United game laugh out loud -- Smiley.

Well, it's fair to say that you've been the catalyst of this turn for the better, so it's only my very due to say a heartfelt thank you very much!!

This opens indeed new doors as I was not even capable of writing a cover letter and updating my resume! Who knows, if next also the microscope learns to recognize my voice, anatomical pathology, here I come again!![if they forget about making money off dead bodies that is sad Smiley]

Furthermore, instead of just adding population size and land area to the introduction section of geographical articles, I might as well be bold and take on a translation say of a Chinese proverb article from Chinese wikipedia!!

Castles in Spain? Maybe, but in the mean I am also chiseling my phonetic knowledge, as the American pronunciation has been chosen/ set and not always one gets a way with British speak, or plainly unclear mumbling. [For example, the letter "p" I have to go to the books four, read wikipedia LOL, to look up what actually is peculiar about it in English so I can dictate "pie" without having to eventually having to manually type it in laugh out loud!

So once again: Thanks!!!Sven70[took me a whole hour, when not more huh]--219.69.81.128 (talk) 09:03, 15 January 2009 (UTC)
