Even for purposes of distinguishing from [[Konak (residence)]], the use of adding (District) in parenthesis is debatable. Other localities called [[Konak]] are specified by the country where they are located ([[Serbia]] and [[Bulgaria]]), but [[Konak, İzmir]] is probably more appopriate in the case of this Konak, since there are a few other localities called under the same name in Turkey, and this one is the historical and actual center of the metropolitan area of [[İzmir]]. Even for purposes of distinguishing from Konak (residence), the use of adding (District) in parenthesis is debatable. Other localities called Konak are specified by the country where they are located (Serbia and Bulgaria), but Konak, İzmir is probably more appopriate in the case of this Konak, since there are a few other localities called under the same name in Turkey, and this one is the historical and actual center of the metropolitan area of İzmir.
