Removing presumed nationality from description. All the edits to this article in 2023 have been switching it between Irish and British. No-one has provided any sources for either. Neither can automatically be assumed based on the band being from Belfast, given the Good Friday Agreement gives the right to identify as either. |

Sham Rock are a pseudo-folk band from Belfast, Northern Ireland, known solely for their 1998 single, "Tell Me Ma" (a pop version of 19th century children's song "I'll Tell Me Ma"). "Tell Me Ma" peaked at number 13 on the UK Singles Chart and remained on the charts for 13 weeks.[1][2] It sold over 200,000 copies in the United Kingdom and Ireland.[citation needed]
A one-hit wonder, Sham Rock had no other chart entries.[1]
