Welcome!

Hello, HurLING560, and welcome to Wikipedia! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, one or more of the pages you created, such as 2021 Banteer/Lyre GAA Season, may not conform to some of Wikipedia's content policies and may not be retained. In short, the topic of an article must be notable and have already been the subject of publication by reliable and independent sources.

Please review Your first article for an overview of the article creation process. The Article Wizard is available to help you create an article, where it will be reviewed and considered for publication. For information on how to request a new article that can be created by someone else, see Requested articles. If you are stuck, come to the Teahouse, where experienced Wikipedians can help you through the processes.

New to Wikipedia? Please consider taking a look at our introductory tutorial or reviewing the contributing to Wikipedia page to learn the basics about editing. Below are a few other good pages about article creation.

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you have any questions, ask me on my talk page or you can just type {{help me}} on this page, followed by your question, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Again, welcome! Guliolopez (talk) 21:43, 12 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Notice

The article 2021 Banteer/Lyre GAA Season has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Fails WP:NSEASONS and WP:GNG. While, per WP:NSEASONS, "individual seasons of teams in top professional league" may meet the notability criteria, this season (for a local amateur GAA club) does not. The sources barely cover the text. But, as ROTM match coverage, do not support any suggestion that the team's season (as a whole) has been the subject of ANY coverage. WP:NOTWEBHOST also applies.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Hi

Hi. If you have previously contributed to Wikipedia under a different profile, then it is best to follow the related guidelines rather than creating new profiles. Creating a new profile, in response to a block is not indicative of understanding for community guidelines. See also WP:SO. Guliolopez (talk) 10:48, 13 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I'm Sea Cow. I noticed that you made a change to an article, 2021 Joe McDonagh Cup, but you didn't provide a source. I’ve removed it for now, but if you’d like to include a citation to a reliable source and re-add it, please do so! If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Sea Cow (talk) 20:49, 17 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not add or significantly change content without citing verifiable and reliable sources, as you did with this edit to 2022 Joe McDonagh Cup. Before making any potentially controversial edits, it is recommended that you discuss them first on the article's talk page. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Sea Cow (talk) 20:51, 17 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Ways to improve 2022 Connacht Senior Football Championship

Hello, HurLING560,

Thank you for creating 2022 Connacht Senior Football Championship.

I have tagged the page as having some issues to fix, as a part of our page curation process and note that:

This article needs more references to satisfy notability for sport. What is needed are references from significant coverage about the topic of the article, and independent of it, in multiple secondary sources which are WP:RS; that is your guide. You may also read WP:PRIMARY which details the limited permitted usage of primary sources. A more comprehensive guide is WP:SOURCES ... Providing sufficient references, ideally one per fact referred to, that meet these tough criteria is likely to allow this article to remain. Lack of them or an inability to find them is likely to mean that the article may not be suitable for inclusion.
This article is missing prose, which means it fails notability for sports seasons. League and Division season articles should consist mainly of well-sourced prose, not just statistics and lists of players. Wikipedia is not a stats directory. See WP:NSEASONS for guidance. Failing this notability guide, this article may be redirected to the main League or Division page. An example is LSU Tigers football Another excellent example is 2022–23 North Carolina Tar Heels men's basketball team

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, leave a comment here and begin it with {{Re|Whiteguru}}. Remember to sign your reply with ~~~~. For broader editing help, please visit the Teahouse.

An article you recently created, 2023 All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. Hello, HurLING560. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "2022 Duhallow Junior A Football Championship".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been deleted. Hello, HurLING560, and welcome to Wikipedia. I edit here too, under the username Meena, and I thank you for your contributions.

I wanted to let you know, however, that I've started a discussion about whether an article that you created, 2023 Leinster Senior Hurling Championship, should be deleted, as I am not sure that it is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia in its current form. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/2023 Leinster Senior Hurling Championship.

You might like to note that such discussions usually run for seven days and are not ballot-polls. And, our guide about effectively contributing to such discussions is worth a read. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.

If you have any questions, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Meena}}. And, don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~ . Thanks!

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Lyre GAA, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Cullen. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 09:32, 21 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Cork Premier Junior Football Championship requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organized event (tour, function, meeting, party, etc.) that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. SECTIONHEAD/Sentence case

Hi. Please consider reviewing MOS:SECTIONHEAD. Which confirms that, save for proper nouns and titles and the like, section headings should use sentence case. IE: "Roll of honour" (not "Roll Of Honour"). "See also" (not "See Also"). "Winning teams" (not "Winning Teams"). Etc. Maybe also have a quick look at WP:CRYSTALBALL (for guidelines on how to write about proposed or potential future events). Cheers. Guliolopez (talk) 10:09, 15 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Copying within Wikipedia requires attribution

Information icon Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from English Football League into League of Ireland. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. Please provide attribution for this duplication if it has not already been supplied by another editor, and if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, you should provide attribution for that also. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. DanCherek (talk) 15:09, 14 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I noticed that you may have recently made edits while logged out. Wikipedia's policy on multiple accounts usually does not allow the use of both an account and an IP address by the same person in the same setting and doing so may result in your account being blocked from editing. Additionally, making edits while logged out reveals your IP address, which may allow others to determine your location and identity. If this was not your intention, please remember to log in when editing. Please also take another look at MOS:SECTIONHEAD. The words "honours" and "final" are not proper nouns and otherwise have zero reason to be capitalised. In body text. Or section headings. Which, per the manual of style, should use sentence case. Control copyright icon Hello HurLING560! Your additions to Gaelic Games in the Middle East have been removed in whole or in part, as they appear to have added copyrighted content without evidence that the source material is in the public domain or has been released by its owner or legal agent under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. (To request such a release, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission.) While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from sources to avoid copyright and plagiarism issues.

  • You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
  • Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify the information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
  • We have strict guidelines on the usage of copyrighted images. Fair use images must meet all ten of the non-free content criteria in order to be used in articles, or they will be deleted. To be used on Wikipedia, all other images must be made available under a free and open copyright license that allows commercial and derivative reuse.
  • If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a legally designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. Understand, though, that unlike many other sites, where a person can license their content for use there and retain non-free ownership, that is not possible at Wikipedia. Rather, the release of content must be irrevocable, to the world, into either the public domain (PD) or under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. Please see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
  • Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you must follow the copyright attribution steps described at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. "Managers list" v "Managers#list"

Hi. What is the value in having the same content (or worse, differing content) in both a standalone "List of current hurling managers" list and an embedded "Managers#List of current hurling managers" list? What am I missing? Guliolopez (talk) 08:22, 28 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

An article you recently created, All-Ireland Senior B Football Championship, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more in-depth coverage about the subject itself, with citations from reliable, independent sources in order to show it meets WP:GNG. It should have at least three, to be safe. And please remember that interviews, as primary sources, do not count towards GNG.(?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). Future events and sources

Hi. Can you please consider re-reading WP:FUTURE and WP:VER. We should only create articles on potential/speculated/future events if there is already significant coverage about the planned event (per WP:SIGCOV) and "speculation about it must be well documented" (per WP:FUTURE). If you have to rely on sources that relate to the 2022 version of an event, then you should ask yourself whether it is WP:TOOSOON to be create an article on the planned 2024 occurrence. WP:GNG and WP:VER apply (perhaps more so) to future events just as they do to current/past events. See also WP:FUTUREEVENT ("Such articles are not appropriate if nothing can be said about the event that is verifiable and not original research"). Guliolopez (talk) 08:50, 15 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

References

Hi. Please stop adding uncited content to articles (or, indeed, creating new and entirely uncited articles). Please also don't remove requests for references that have not been addressed. Per WP:VER, it is a fundamental principle of the project that readers and other editors "be able to check that any of the information within Wikipedia articles is not just made up". And, as noted in WP:BURDEN, the "burden to demonstrate verifiability lies with the editor who adds or restores material". Adding uncited material that, without reliable/verifiable refs is indistinguishable from hoax/nonsense material, is not constructive. Neither is removing tags when the related issue hasn't been addressed. Guliolopez (talk) 18:56, 10 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

IDHT

Hi. Multiple editors (both directly and indirectly) have highlighted notability, sourcing, editing behaviour and related guidelines to you in recent months. If you continue to ignore these good-faith inputs, and edit in a manner which is counter to convention and consensus, then escalation may be required. Per the applicable guideline, "If the community spends more time cleaning up editors' mistakes and educating them about policies and guidelines than it considers necessary, sanctions may have to be imposed". Thanks. Guliolopez (talk) 13:56, 20 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. As above, please stop (re)adding uncited WP:NOTSTATS content to articles. As you continue to do to the Duhallow Junior B Football Championship and Duhallow Junior A Hurling Championship articles. Wikipedia is not a free webhost for these entities or a republisher/mirror of granular match results. Nor is it a type of a sports newspaper for "news" content that will fall out-of-date very quickly. See also WP:LASTING. If you continue to edit in this way (without consideration to the guidelines, the policies on using multiple accounts, and ignoring all input/feedback from other editors), then escalation will be required. Guliolopez (talk) 22:08, 1 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hi. I have reverted yet another addition of unexplained/unsupported/uncited/NOTNEWS "2023 match scores" content from Duhallow Junior A Football Championship. Escalation next. Thanks. Guliolopez (talk) 18:53, 9 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your contributions to 2023 Cork Junior B Hurling Championship. Unfortunately, it is not ready for publishing because it has no sources which support the text or establish notability. Your article is now a draft where you can improve it undisturbed for a while.

Notice

The article Munster Senior Football Championship records and statistics has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

WP:NOTSTATS content which is not supported by reliable/verifiable references. Much of the content is otherwise indiscriminate "rehashing" of the same content. Or random tables with no clear inclusion criteria. What is the "recentness" criteria for example for the "Most recent pairings in the final" section? Or why does the "All-time table" start in 2020? How is that "all time"?

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
