Go out on P2P and search for the Ice Cube song that trashes Cypress Hill. I'm not sure who started it, but the Cypress song makes a point of calling Ice Cube a "Dough Boy", which is probably an insult about his weight (and a reference to the character he played in Boys n the Hood). The picture

I think we need a better picture than the current one, Image:Cypresskoncert.jpg. It's essentially useless, as it is just a blur of color. Maybe a stock photo of the group, if copyright-allowed? --Whosyourjudas (talk) 00:00, 15 Nov 2004 (UTC)

I agree, although I think it would be better to have any picture than none at all... I don't see why we couldn't have a photo of a popular album of theirs just as we do on tons of other pages? aubrey 07:02, 15 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

DJ Muggs Ethnicity

Its a well known fact to Cypress Hill fans that Muggs is Italian and not considered Latino. Among other sources, I invite you to visit his Wikipedia bio page (stating that he's Italian with a Norwegian surname). Google "DJ Muggs Italian" and there are hundreds of articles and website, including these two (the first from LA Weekly in which Muggs speaks on being a white Italian):

http://www.laweekly.com/music/music/side-tripping/3004/

http://www.keepmedia.com/pubs/RoughGuidesMusic/1999/10/01/285053?extID=10032&oliID=213

Whereas there isn't a single page on the entire web stating that Muggs is anything but Italian. So please keep the quote out, as it seems made made (there doesn't seem to be any page on the web that even reflects that quote ever made, save for sites using this wiki).

Sorry. For some reason I thought you were talking about Sen Dog. But just because Muggs in Italian, doesn't mean he can't talk about the "Latin flavor" that Cypress brings...what we should do is identify the contributor who provided the quote and ask them where they read it. Until then, we can leave it out.--Rockero 06:47, 19 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I beleive that Muggs, while not being Latino, was raised in a dominately Latino city. I don't remember where I heard this, but it sounds right to me. Also, he could be saying this as a representation of the Latino members of Cypress Hill in addition to himself, not directly representing himself alone. When I [ http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=As+Latinos+we+thought+it+would+be+a+good+idea+to+build+in+some+of+this+latin+jazz+flavor&btnG=Google+Search Googled the quote], the results seemed incunclusive. Many were either unreliable pages, or just copies of the Wiki page. However, some sites looked as if they were reliable. I can't make a sure say, though.
I'm a big fan of Muggs, but living in New York and then Los Angeles doesn't really make him Latino by proxy. He obviously knows aspects of Latin culture better than most Italians, it just seemed that the "we as Latinos" part was inaccurate. I wouldn't be surprised if B-Real or Sen were the ones that said it, and it was misquoted, but until someone can confirm the source (which may reveal if someone else from the group said it), we'll just keep it out.

The point of the wiki is to get the facts right, not to make a subjective statement about the music itself.

LA or South Gate?

I think we should say that they are from LA, and then maybe be abit more precise if necessary, Thing is that most people do not know South Gater, but everyone knows South Gate.HichamVanborm 16:33, 14 September 2006 (UTC) TRIVIA- APPEARED IN THE SIMPSONS[reply]
