David Hornik is an American venture capitalist and founding partner at Lobby Capital. [1][2][3] Prior to founding Lobby Capital, Hornik was a General Partner at August Capital for 20 years. [4][5] Hornik invested in a wide range of technology companies, including but not limited to: Splunk, GitLab, WePay, Bill.com, Fastly, Evite.[6][7][8] His investing stories have been featured in American author Adam Grant's New York Times Bestseller Give and Take: A Revolutionary Approach to Success.[9][10][11]
In addition to his investing career, Hornik teaches entrepreneurship at Harvard Law School[12][13] and business management at Stanford Graduate School of Business.[14] [15] Since June 2014, Hornik serves on the Board of GLAAD (Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation).[16]
Hornik holds an AB in Computer Music from Stanford University, an M.Phil in Criminology from Cambridge University and a JD from Harvard Law School.[16]
