As of 2020 many of his published papers came under controversy due to potential imagine fraud[24] leading to the retraction of several studies.[25] Retractions were mainly based on image problems and occurred in several journals such as Scientific reports,[26] Molecular Biotechnology,[27] Stel cell and development[28] and Cell and Tissue Research[29]
