Oleg Yuryevich Mityaev (Template:Lang-ru, 1974) is a Russian major-general (one-star rank) who according to Ukrainian officials has been killed during the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine, however this is impossible to verify.

Biography

Mityaev ran a Russian military base in Tajikistan. He was one of the leaders of the Russian intervention in Syria.[3]

Mityaev was the commander of Russia's 150th Motorised Rifle Division from 2020.[4]

According to Ukrainian officials, he was killed while taking part in the Siege of Mariupol during the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine, reportedly by the Azov Battalion.[1][5] According to the Ukrainian, he was the fourth Russian general killed during the 2022 invasion.[6] Western sources believe 20 major-generals were deployed to Ukraine.[1] However, the Ukrainian claim is impossible to verify, and Russian sources have not confirmed his death.[7]
