Has the “Kirby falling down a cliff” meme been mentioned here yet? |
Has the “Kirby falling down a cliff” meme been mentioned here yet? It’s basically a clip from the first episode of Kirby: Right Back at Ya (Hoshi no Kaabii) where King Dedede knocks Kirby off a cliff with his hammer. This meme has gained popularity lately, showing clips of characters falling only to quickly be replaced by the clip of Kirby falling down a cliff. I think this might have happened because of the reveal of Kazuya from Tekken in Super Smash Bros (at the end of his reveal trailer, he throws Kirby off a cliff, much like Dedede did) but I’m not completely sure. |

Q1: Why isn't (insert meme name here) mentioned in this article?
A1: Wikipedia is not an infinite repository of indiscriminate information; we cannot mention those phenomena which do not meet a standard of notability and verifiability. Q2: What does it take to make a new addition to the list?
A2: Memes must be proven of being notable for inclusion, using reliable sources that are verifiable. Q3: Why do all additions need sources?
A3: This is an enforcement of Wikipedia policy, to ensure that only factual detail is added, and to prevent synthesis and original research, which may pose problems such as factual errors and conflict of interest. Q4: Finding sources is boring. Can't somebody else do it?
A4: The burden of finding sources is on you, as the contributor, not on any other editor. Contributors are required to find credible sources on their own, and not rely on other editors in obtaining sources. |

Please add "Angry Birds" to the games section of this article. It has had a great impact on internet culture over the past decade with memes such as "Realistic Angry Birds" and controversy with the first movie released in 2016. Also it's marketability also helped it become known throughout the world. ChickenLover21 (talk) 20:14, 25 December 2021 (UTC)
- Not done We can't use Know Your Meme or random YouTube videos for sourcing. And we're also looking for memes based on games (like Portal's memes); if the game itself is successful but primarily for the game, we don't include that here. --Masem (t) 20:17, 25 December 2021 (UTC)
Ok, I understand the yt video source, but what about the submissions like "Can it run Doom"? and "Surgeon Simulator"? I feel like those fall into the same description you made due to "Can it run Doom" not coming from the game itself and Surgeon Simulator being just a game with no meme attached to it. ChickenLover21 (talk) 20:25, 25 December 2021 (UTC)
It is an internet phenomenon due to the game being downloaded over a billion times and it being the oldest well known and popular mobile game franchise to date.ChickenLover21 (talk) 20:32, 25 December 2021 (UTC)
- That makes it a video game phenomenon (and I presume its page covers that), but not an internet phenomena (aka Internet memes). And that applies to Surgeon Simulator too (it is infact using one unreliable source, the Forbes contributor piece) so I'm removing that for the same reason. But "Can it run Doom" is 100% a meme. --Masem (t) 21:15, 25 December 2021 (UTC)

Include Disaster Girl Meme in the Images section?
The Disaster Girl Meme has its own Wikipedia [Girl|article], and when it was sold as an NFT recently, this was widely reported in the mainstream media, e.g. BBC News (see references under article). I was surprised to not see it in the list of images, and I suggest it is added. 62.205.107.93 (talk) 06:39, 20 January 2022 (UTC)
Include Renegade Dance?
I feel that it would be worthwhile to include the Renegade dance (the TikTok dance trend set to the song Lottery (K Camp song) by K Camp in the dance section. The trend was responsible for the rise of stars like Charli D'Amelio and Addison Rae and serves as an interesting backdrop for issues relating to race and credit for internet content-creation. Additionally, there is a lack of TikTok trends in the dance section which seems like an oversight given the popularity of such trends on the app. DobroHoras (talk) 22:50, 21 January 2022 (UTC)

Speaking of which, has anyone here added Deltarune memes? The phrase “BIG SHOT!!” uttered by Spamton has been spreading around the internet like a computer virus.
… know what imma just go now. add Kirby.
