Information icon Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at Joule. Your edits appear to constitute vandalism and have been reverted. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. Repeated vandalism may result in the loss of editing privileges. Thank you. Jc3s5h (talk) 11:16, 9 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Edit summaries

Information icon Hello. I have noticed that you often edit without using an edit summary. Please do your best to always fill in the summary field. This helps your fellow editors use their time more productively, rather than spending it unnecessarily scrutinizing and verifying your work. Even a short summary is better than no summary, and summaries are particularly important for large, complex, or potentially controversial edits. To help yourself remember, you may wish to check the "prompt me when entering a blank edit summary" box in your preferences. Thanks! Laterthanyouthink (talk) 13:46, 10 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop

Information icon Please do not use styles that are nonstandard, unusual, inappropriate or difficult to understand in articles. There is a Manual of Style, and edits should not deliberately go against it without special reason. Thank you.

Please stop adding definite articles where none are needed. In most of your edits doing that, you slightly changed the original meaning.

Also, please don't alter comma style, calling it " correcting grammatical errors". See MOS:SERIAL: "Editors may use either convention so long as each article is internally consistent." See also MOS:STYLERET. - DVdm (talk) 12:16, 17 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi DVdm! Thanks for reaching out about your concerns. I would like to ask you to:

A) Define definite articles?

B) Expand your concern about correcting punctuations. Is this in regards to my recent edits or my overall edits? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Monicamsuya301 (talkcontribs) 12:31, 17 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Please sign all your talk page messages with four tildes (~~~~) — See Help:Using talk pages. Thanks.
A) If you don't know what definite articles are, then you probably should not be "‎improving user experience by correcting grammatical errors" on the English Wikipedia. Perhaps you better do that on the Wikipedia of your first language. Almost everywere where you added definite (or indefinite) articles (such as here and here), you slightly changed the original meaning, actually worsening user experience.

In this example, you even turned it into nonsense.

B) See MOS:SERIAL and MOS:STYLERET.

Thank you for your response. It seems the problem you have with my grammatical edits is related to mathematics. I'll refrain from amending articles related to Math. I'll also refrain from adding "definite articles" altogether. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Monicamsuya301 (talkcontribs) 13:03, 17 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Please sign all your talk page messages with four tildes (~~~~) and please indent your talk page messages as outlined in wp:THREAD and wp:INDENT — See Help:Using talk pages.
I don't have just problems with your edits to articles related to mathematics. Having many such articles on my watchlist, I happened to notice your edits. It seems that indeed, you made the same mistakes to almost all articles that you edited. So you better refrain from making grammatical edits to any article on the English Wikipedia. See this: Attic is a language, the subject of the article. The attic is the upper part of a house. - DVdm (talk) 13:10, 17 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I already told you that I'll refrain from adding "definite articles" before nouns. At least, not without having a second read. Monicamsuya301 (talk) 13:28, 17 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
May I know what problem you have with this edit? [1] — Preceding unsigned comment added by Monicamsuya301 (talkcontribs) 13:31, 17 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I explained that in my edit summary: "These are not grammatical errors. See MOS:SERIAL and MOS:STYLERET". That is the third time I point you to these guidelines. What don't you understand about it? - DVdm (talk) 14:42, 17 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

"Correcting grammatical errors"

In this edit, you added a comma to a direct quote. This suggests to me that you aren't really reading what it is that you're editing and that you aren't taking this particularly seriously. Please listen to the concerns of other editors, and if you want to continue copy-editing, ensure that you are doing so sensibly and accurately. ninety:one 14:30, 17 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for pointing that out. I'll take note and come back to editing when I have a clear mind. Monicamsuya301 (talk) 14:36, 17 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Note: this did not correct a grammatical error. Replacing double spaces with one space has no effect whatsoever on what the reader sees. That kind of edit is pointless. - DVdm (talk) 16:12, 17 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
