Focus

Usually I'll edit pages that I was reading for my information anyway, and decided it needed some cleanup.

• Topical focus: Main areas of focus are Mathematics, Science (Computer science and physics usually), Education, Current events, Business, Government, Pop culture, Economics, and Politics.
• Cleanup: I generally try to improve an article's prose and correct spelling, grammar, etc.
• Citation: I'll add ^{{{citation needed}}} to anything that seems contentious and doesn't have a citation.
• Persondata: I'm also putting Persondata metadata wherever I find people pages that don't have them.
• Patrolling: I frequently look at Recent Changes, especially at New Pages. See Wikipedia:Recent changes patrol for more information.

Working on

• Drafts for main articles.
• Gallery of my images.
• Live spellcheck - if you see the edit summary Pseudo automatic live spellcheck: Correct spelling... it means I corrected the listed spelling. This is not a bot, and I do check each correction manually (per policy). The articles I correct are chosen by the script, and not me.
• Source patrol - I've added to these articles recently, and if the statements aren't sourced soon, I'll remove the statements in accordance with WP:V.

• Topic: Politics
  • Right to petition - started article, mostly about US application (since that's what I'm familiar with), and, incidentally, UK historic application (only because I'm tracing the roots of the American application in the US Bill of Rights)
  • Bush v. Gore - for such a controversial issue, this is well-balanced article, I think it can reach FA status
• Topic: Economics
  • Making diagrams to illustrate various microeconomic concepts. See my economics diagram gallery.
    • Replacing old PNGs or JPEGs with standardized SVGs.
    • Ex. Deadweight loss, consumer surplus, producer surplus, supply and demand, Edgeworth box, contract curve, monopsony, price ceiling, monopoly, indifference curve

Things about Wikipedia that bother me

These are specific examples of general trends in Wikipedia that bother me. Only one trend for now! That's good! Fringe opinions (and controversies about those fringe opinions, and discussions about controversies about..., etc. etc.) get more coverage and editor time than the topic itself Ex. Apollo Moon Landing hoax accusations is much longer (about 3x) than Apollo 11 as of 21:18, 3 December 2006 (UTC)
