Why does this section keep getting removed? Is there an overarching move toward removing popular culture sections? If so, why? Dave C.talk | Esperanza 17:10, 21 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

If Napoleon died in 1821 and the first company to produce Courvoisier was established in 1835, how did Napoleon develop a taste for it?

  • Simple--the recipe could be decades older than the company. If Grandma starts an apple pie company when she is 60 that doesn't mean that she hasn't been making the recipe for decades. In fact, it is almost certain that she has been and the same is true with any brandy recipe. The Courvoisier/Napoleon story could be a total fabrication but the time line isn't any indication that it is. —Preceding unsigned comment added by TheScotti (talkcontribs) 08:11, 26 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Parts of this article are a copyvio from http://www.beerliquors.com/giftbaskets/esprit_courvoisier_decanter.htm

You know, I blush when reading this article in comarison to the one on Hennessey. We're really neglecting the cultural impact of Couvoursier on rap and hip-hop music, a mistake the editors of the Hennessey article have been careful to avoid. I feel silly stating th obvious but, Busta Rhymes, P. Diddy, and Pharrell brough Couvoursier to the forefront on the hip-hop and pop charts with "Pass the Courvousier pt. 2" (link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JAYXRtNxsGA). The music video itself had a string of cultural references and other stars available as well.

I don't mean to be rude, but this is Wikipedia, and if we want to see its continued growth as a reliable source of information, rather than just a group of amateurs indexing the web, then we can't afford to overlook crucial facts like these. I know a lot of people are wary of taking certain "taboo" subjects like hip-hop, anime, and video games seriously, but this is the direction our culture is moving in, and we need to learn to quell our discriminatory tendencies in favor of objectivity. Come on, guys. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Deepsoulfunk (talkcontribs) 23:32, 19 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you. I literally only came to this article to see a mention of "The Ladies' Man." — Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.72.186.125 (talk) 05:46, 12 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
