Hello, |
|||
The Wikimedia Foundation is conducting a survey of Wikipedians to better understand what draws administrators to contribute to Wikipedia, and what affects administrator retention. We will use this research to improve experiences for Wikipedians, and address common problems and needs. We have identified you as a good candidate for this research, and would greatly appreciate your participation in this '''[https://wikimediafoundation.limesurvey.net/962595?lang=en anonymous survey]'''. |
|||
You do not have to be an Administrator to participate. |
|||
The survey should take around 10-15 minutes to complete. You may read more about the study on its [[m:Special:MyLanguage/Research:Wikipedia Administrator Recruitment, Retention, and Attrition|Meta page]] and view its [[wmf:Special:MyLanguage/Legal:Administrator Experiences 2024 Survey Privacy Statement|privacy statement]] . |
|||
Please find our contact on the project Meta page if you have any questions or concerns. |

[[File:Information.svg|25px|alt=Information icon]] Thank you for [[Special:Contributions/DACC23|your contributions]] to Wikipedia. It appears that you translated text from [[:Adolf Georg von Maltzan]] to another page. While you are welcome to translate Wikipedia content, here or elsewhere, [[WP:Copyrights|Wikipedia's licensing]] '''requires that you provide attribution''' to the contributor(s) of the original article. When translating from a foreign-language Wikipedia article, this is supplied at a minimum in an '''[[Help:Edit summary|edit summary]]''' on the page where you add translated content, identifying it as a translation and [[Help:Link#Wikilinks|linking]] it to the source page. For example: <code>Content in this edit is translated from the existing French Wikipedia article at <nowiki>[[:fr:Exact name of French article]]</nowiki>; see its history for attribution.</code> It is good practice, especially if translation is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{tl|translated page}} template on the talk page of the destination article. If you have added translated content previously which was not attributed at the time it was added, please [[WP:RIA|add attribution retrospectively for that also]], even if it was a long time ago. You can read more about author attribution and the reasons for it at [[WP:TFOLWP|Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia]]. [[File:Copyright-problem.svg|25px|alt=|link=]] Your addition to [[:Anthony Hardolph Eyre]] has been removed or altered, as it appears to '''[[Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing|closely paraphrase]]''' a copyrighted source. [[Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing#When there are a limited number of ways to say the same thing|Limited close paraphrasing]] or [[Wikipedia:Quotations|quotation]] is appropriate within reason, so long as the material is clearly [[Wikipedia:Citing sources#In-text attribution|attributed in the text]]. If you own the copyright to the text, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use it — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you ''must'' verify that externally by one of the processes explained at [[Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials]]. If you are not the owner of the copyright but have permission from that owner, see [[Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission]]. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators '''will be [[Wikipedia:Blocking policy|blocked from editing]]'''. Hi DACC23, on the [[Lloyd C. Griscom]] page you added a photo(on May 21, 2018) of King Victor Emmanuel, [[Wilbur Wright]] and ''Lloyd Griscom''. The man in the portrait with cane and straw hat, is [[Orville Wright]] not Griscom. But thanks of this Wright Bros. photo of the two of them in Italy. Photos of both brothers in Italy are kind of rare and was glad to run across it. Cheers.[[User:Koplimek|Koplimek]] ([[User talk:Koplimek|talk]]) 19:33, 30 July 2024 (UTC) |

Thank you for your well-researched and well-cited major expansions of John Teele Pratt, Robert H. Thayer and Sigourney Thayer, some of the very first articles I started, way back in 2006. Edwardx (talk) 22:41, 25 April 2018 (UTC) |

Happy New Year!
[edit]Walter Elmer Schofield, Across the River (1904), Carnegie Museum of Art. |
Best wishes for a safe, healthy and prosperous 2021. | |
Thank you for your contributions toward making Wikipedia a better and more accurate place. BoringHistoryGuy (talk) 15:05, 26 December 2020 (UTC) Oneupsmanship: This painting turned the friendly rivalry between Edward Redfield and Elmer Schofield into a feud. Schofield was a frequent houseguest at Redfield's farm, upstream from New Hope, Pennsylvania, and the two would go out painting together, competing to capture the better view. Redfield served on the jury for the 1904 Annual Exhibition of the Carnegie Institute; at which, despite Redfield's opposition, Across the River was awarded the Gold Medal and $1,500 prize. It was not until a 1963 interview that the 93-year-old Redfield revealed the painting as the cause of the 40-year feud between them. Schofield may have painted it in England, but a blindsided Redfield knew that it was a view of the Delaware River, from his own front yard! |
