El Afweyn District (Somali: Degmada Ceelafweyn) is a district in the Sanaag region of Somaliland. Its capital lies at El Afweyn.
Population
[edit]The district is inhabited 2/4 by the Biciide subdivisions of Musa abokor, Habar jeclo as well as the Sa'ad Yonis subdivisions of the Habar yoonis, Garhajis, all of which belong to the wider Isaaq clan.[citation needed]
The population in 2005 was 65,797 according to the OCHA survey.[1]
