Saint-André is community in Saint-André Parish, Madawaska County, New Brunswick, Canada.[2] It was part of an eponymous rural community prior to 2023; the most recent census data is for the rural community. It is now part of the town of Grand Falls.

Situated in a potato farming area, Saint-André was founded in 1904.

History

On 1 January 2023, the rural community of Saint-André amalgamated with the town of Grand Falls.[3] The community's name remains in official use.[4]

In the 2021 Census of Population conducted by Statistics Canada, Saint-André had a population of 1,794 living in 756 of its 782 total private dwellings, a change of -5.6% from its 2016 population of 1,901. With a land area of 136.19 km2 (52.58 sq mi), it had a population density of 13.2/km2 (34.1/sq mi) in 2021.[1]
