Hullahalli is a historical village. Kapila river flows across the village. The name Hullahalli came from the Maharshi "Thruna", that's why the village is called as Hullahalli. The village is known for an ancient Varadaraja Temple, and Vishwaguru Veerabhadreshwaraswamy Sannidi or Trunapuri Shree Mahadeshwaraswamy Sannidi, located along south bank of Kapila River.
Hullahalli has a rich historical background, home to ancient temples as well as folk art and culture. The village is an integral part of Old [[Old Mysore region|Mysore region]]. Here lives Parivar race that are called the family of [[Wadiyar dynasty|Wodeyars]], kings of Mysore, they are the royal servant and a warrior community.
