==History==
Last NDA regime tried to disinvest NFL due to the loss incured by corrupt practices of NFL Management. From the Managing Director PS Grewal to BM Ratolia ,NFL managment was a collection of bunch of corrupt people. From contracts to promotions, everything was given on basis of bribes by these people. Ratolia was nailed for corrupt practices but lot of people like Grewal,Sindwani survived and retired with their dirty money. All this lead to the decline of once a very profitable unit.
Present Nangal is situated on the land acquired from nearby places in 1948 when the construction of [[Bhakra Dam]] was planned on the [[Satluj]] River. The town is divided into three parts: Nangal, Nangal Township and Naya Nangal.
