However, the movement of peoples did not only occur in the former German states. The areas of Lithuania and Ukraine were altered at the end of the war. The Ukrainian town of [[L'viv]] was pre-1939 the Polish town of [[Lwów]]. Many of the Polish inhabitants of [[Lwów]] moved to the German [[Breslau]], now the Polish city of [[Wrocław]]. In essence the post-1945 make-up of [[Wrocław University]] was the surviving faculty from universities in [[Lwów]]. |
