Two journals by Erma Moncrief were made into the book "Erma's Newport Journal" with help from Emily Stites and Emma Allen. Once the book was finished Emily had died. The book was completed by Emma Allen in 2006, and was sold for $10.00. The library at Downe Township Elementary (the only school in Downe) has a copy of this book. It is filled with an aray of historic information.
