Release Lillywhite Recordings Campaign
Re: Reverts to davematthewsband
Hi,

:Here is a duplicate of my response on my talk page for your convenience:
How are you?

Your warning is inappropriate. It implies a pattern of many reverts to many edits by many authors. That is not the case. In fact, I did not even revert your edit, but merely altered a portion of it, and this only occured a single time. I also did not assume you lacked good faith in your edit, I simply thought it was wrong, going against the vast majority of musician templates.
I am proposing that the following article: Release Lillywhite Recordings Campaign be deleted. There is no proof that this campaign led to the recording of Busted Stuff, or was acknowledged by the DMB or RCA people. While the campaign was mentioned in Rolling Stone and Entertainment Weekly, I don't think that is grounds enough to have a separate article. Please comment on the Talk page. Thanks. Milchama 17:44, 18 November 2006 (UTC)

In regards to the U2 template, it appears that the non-performers were added at a time when that second line read "Additional Staff"... (below the line "Bandmembers" .) Now that those labels have been removed, I would suggest that the U2 template may also need to be revisted for clarity's sake. Adm58 20:47, 3 April 2007 (UTC)
Orphaned fair use image (Image:Your Blue Room.jpg)
Thanks for uploading :Image:Your Blue Room.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently specifies that the image is unlicensed for use on Wikipedia and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. == Redirects ==

Ninth to 9th?
There have been a number of redirects you have tagged with rfd, but never listed at WP:RFD. Please see the instructions for nominating a redirect for deletion. You need to follow both steps to complete the nomination. As these have been incomplete for some time, I have reverted the tags. If you still wish to nominate them for deletion, feel free to re-nominate them, but please follow the instructions. Also, do not redirect an article and then nominate that redirect for deletion (as you did with Ambler College). If you wish to see the article deleted, you should use WP:AFD or WP:PROD. Please let me know if you have any questions. Thanks. -- JLaTondre 15:10, 9 December 2006 (UTC)

Why did you replace this with AWB? The standard for the project is to spell out 1st to 10th. Though I see that you only did this to PATH, which was only recently added to the project. --NE2 07:26, 16 April 2007 (UTC)
Semi-protection tag
:When I first saw the edits on my watchlist, I immediately thought you had changed subway station names; I guess some of my initial confusion rubbed off. I think it looks more "formal" to spell out 1st to 10th, but it doesn't matter much either way to me. --NE2 16:14, 16 April 2007 (UTC)
Actually, the tag has no effect on vandalism. An administrator has to protect or semi-protect the article to have any effect. The tag is just for notification.--Kchase T 05:40, 19 December 2006 (UTC)

=================================
A belated thank you from me too! Wasted Time and I had come to a pragmatic compromise on the info that we felt needed to be in the infobox - but were both lacking the tech ability to do it!

Unspecified source for :Image:Case seal.png
There is one little change that needs to be done on one of the two info boxes - that I'm not sure how to do.

Thanks for uploading :Image:Case seal.png. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.
The infobox for A Conspiracy of Hope Tour is perfect. The text header for the various Amnesty events reads: </br>
Amnesty International benefit events chronology </br>

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the GFDL-self-no-disclaimers tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as non-free fair use in or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
Now we need the header text in the other infobox - on Human Rights Now! Tour to read the same way.

At present it reads:

About :Image:Wiseguy simpsons.gif
Amnesty International tour chronology

You must give the source, a fair use claim, and a detailed fair use rationale before any administrator can undelete this image. Better yet, please convert it to PNG before reuploading it with the fair use claim and rationale because Wikipedia does not want GIF files unless they are animations because PNG almost always produces smaller files. Hi. With regards to your changes to various railway line articles, I was wondering why you have replaced the official International Symbol of Access with the current rather crudely drawn wheelchair symbol. The official symbol may be used within the terms of its copyright for uses defined in International Symbol of Access, including "Indicating an accessible transit station or vehicle". Furthermore, I have worked with people with disabilities in the past, and have found that badly thought-out or stereotyped signs, no matter how well intentioned, can often cause offence, and therefore the most prudent option is to stick to official symbols.&nbsp;&ndash; Tivedshambo<small> (talk)</small> 20:46, 25 March 2007 (UTC)

:The "no EP, compilations, live albums or singles in chronology" guideline is unfortunately often ignored (for the first three categories, more rarely for the last), I suspect most often simply because editors are unaware of it. My guess is unawareness is probably the reason the guideline isn't followed by the U2 articles as well. I edit quite a few album articles myself, and I can attest that the guideline is followed (for the first three categories) for some artist's chronologies, but it's likely less than 50%. There was some discussion about it at WT:ALBUM recently, and I assume you'd find it's been discussed earlier as well if you dig through the archives. --PEJL 21:58, 25 May 2007 (UTC)

:Drive-by comment... I found this situation particularly interesting because the U2 albums used to run separate chronologies by type. Edits like this changed it to the current practice. –Unint 03:10, 26 May 2007 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free image (Image:U2vid zootvld.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:U2vid zootvld.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Please see Wikipedia:Non-free content for details on Wikipedia policy on fair use images. Jesse Viviano 22:12, 21 May 2007 (UTC)

Pride: The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra Plays U2 Infobox

You seem to be quite knowledgeable about infoboxes - I was wondering if you could help me with the infobox for Pride: The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra Plays U2. I have added an alternate cover, but I cannot seem to make the background the same as the actual tribute album template. Could you help me out with this? MelicansMatkin 21:57, 22 May 2007 (UTC)

Thanks very much for your help. I'm still a novice when it comes to infoboxes, and I appreciate all of your help immensely. I was aware of the U2Wanderer page (thats where I got the release date from originally), and I was having trouble finding any other viable sources.

Re: Infobox album chronology

In reply to this message:

The "no EP, compilations, live albums or singles in chronology" guideline is unfortunately often ignored (for the first three categories, more rarely for the last), I suspect most often simply because editors are unaware of it. My guess is unawareness is probably the reason the guideline isn't followed by the U2 articles as well. I edit quite a few album articles myself, and I can attest that the guideline is followed (for the first three categories) for some artist's chronologies, but it's likely less than 50%.
