The Eastern Australian sawshark is found on offshore [[continental shelf|continental]] slopes. It is a large stocky sawshark with a moderately long, narrow rostral saw. The [[barbel]]s are closer to the rostral tip than the mouth. There are 20 to 25 large lateral sawteeth, 11 to 15 before the barbels, 9 to 10 behind. |

Coloration is plain grey-brown above, with no spots or bars, and white below. The [[rostrum]] has darker brownish stripes along the midline and on the edges. |

The Eastern Australian sawshark, Pristiophorus peroniensis, is a sawshark of the family Pristiophoridae, found off southeastern mainland Australia at depths of between 100 and 630 m. Its length is up to 1.36 m.
Prior to its description in 2008, this species was known as Pristiophorus sp. A. This species is now considered to be a relative of Pristiophorus cirratus[1]
