'''Telfit''' ({{langx|ar|تلفيت}}; or '''Tilfit''') is a [[Palestinians|Palestinian]] village in the [[Jenin Governorate]] of [[State of Palestine|Palestine]], in the northern [[West Bank]], located southeast of [[Jenin]]. According to the [[Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics]] (PCBS) census, the village had a population of 238 in 2007 and 439 by 2017.<ref name="PrelimCensus2017" /><ref name="PCBS">[http://www.pcbs.gov.ps/Portals/_PCBS/Downloads/book1487.pdf#page=105 2007 PCBS Census]. Situated on an isolated ''[[Tell (archaeology)|tell]]'' in the [[Zababdeh|Zababdeh Valley]], Telfit has an elevation of 390 meters above sea level.<ref name="Zertal122">Zertal, 2007, p. [https://books.google.com/books?id=ZFDJt_F0nvoC&pg=PA122 122]</ref> Nearby localities include [[Kufeir]] to the south, [[Zababdeh]] to the southwest, [[Qabatiya]] to the west, [[Umm at-Tut]] to the north, [[Jalqamus]] and [[al-Mughayyir, Jenin|al-Mughayyir]] to the northeast and [[Raba, Jenin|Raba]] to the southeast. The principal water source is Ein Ginai, 6 kilometers to the west and there are 35 [[cistern]]s in the village. In 1980 Telfit's built-up area consisted of 15 [[dunam]]s.<ref name="Zertal122"/>

==History==
The northern and westerns parts of Telfit contain ruins dating to the [[Byzantine Empire|Byzantine]]<ref name="Zertal122"/><ref>Dauphin, 1998, p. 789</ref> and [[Islamic Caliphate|Early Islamic]] periods between the 5th-8th centuries. Ancient building material is used in some of the houses.<ref name="Zertal122"/>

===Ottoman era===
Telfit is absent from 16th century records. It was initially settled by people from [[Qabatiya]]. It is likely that the village was not inhabited before the 18th century.<ref name=":0">Grossman, D. In the [[1922 census of Palestine]], conducted  by the [[Mandatory Palestine|British Mandate authorities]], Telfit had a population of 43; 24 Muslims and 19 Christians,<ref name=Census1922a>Barron, 1923, Table IX, Sub-district of Jenin, p.
